Next Retreat Saturday/Sunday 3rd/4th October 2026.

Leave the Noise Behind
Healing • Meditation • Breath-work • Movement • Connection
What if you gave yourself permission to stop?
Not to achieve something.
Not to become somebody different.
Not to fix yourself.

Between the Mountains and the Mediterranean
Perched above the Mediterranean on Spain's Costa Tropical, Salobreña is a place that naturally invites you to slow down.
Whitewashed houses climb towards its ancient hilltop castle. The Mediterranean stretches out below, while the Sierra Nevada rises behind.
Our retreat space at Hotel Salambina looks directly across this extraordinary landscape.
And as evening approaches, something rather special happens.
The room fills with golden light.
The sun begins to disappear behind the mountains.
And everything becomes quiet.

This Isn't About Escaping Your Life
It's about returning to it differently.
There will be times when people are lying quietly.
Times when they're moving.
Times when they're working with another person.
Times when they're breathing.
Times when they're laughing.
Times when they're looking out of that window doing absolutely nothing.

Meditation & Breath-Work
Slow down the mind. Return attention to the body. Become aware of what is happening within rather than constantly reacting to what is happening around you...

Healing & Connection
Experience simple but powerful healing practices in a safe, supportive environment — both giving and receiving, and discovering what can happen when we become fully present with another person.

Movement & Release
Gentle movement gives the body an opportunity to release tension, open, breathe and reconnect. No flexibility or previous yoga experience is required..

Stillness
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is stop.
No technique. Nothing to achieve. Just time to lie quietly, breathe and allow the body and mind to settle.
You don't need to be Spiritual
You don't need to meditate every morning.
You don't need to practise yoga.
You don't need to understand chakras.
You certainly don't need to be able to put your foot behind your head. 😄
You simply need to be curious about yourself.
All ages, body types and levels of experience are welcome. Everything we do can be adapted to the individual.
A retreat on the Mediterranean coast of Southern Spain
Hotel Salambina, Salobreña, Granada.
6 Nights 9th-15th May 2027

Why I Created This Retreat
Where It Began
My own healing journey began quite unexpectedly.
In 1991, I was in my late twenties and struggling with an injury. The only treatment that had given me real relief was Amatsu bodywork, and that experience eventually led me to study Amatsu myself.
At the time, I was so insecure that I would deliberately arrive at class at the very last minute, simply so I wouldn't have to make conversation with people I didn't know.
I went there to deal with an injury.
I certainly didn't go there to change the direction of my life.

Why I Create These Retreats
After more than thirty years of working with people, I don't believe my role is to fix you.
My role is to create the environment.
A place where you can step away from the noise, responsibilities and stresses of everyday life.
Where you can become quiet enough to begin listening to yourself.
To notice the thoughts, emotions and fears that may be holding you back — and perhaps realise that they don't have to continue defining your life.
There is nothing you need to prove here.
Nothing you need to become.
Sometimes we simply need enough space and stillness to rediscover something that was there all along:
the love, joy and freedom that already reside within you.

The Journey Turned Inward
Within a year I was treating people myself.
Suddenly, I was meeting people I didn't know almost every day. They were coming to me for help, and I had to step forward and trust what I was doing.
But something else began to happen.
Working so closely with other people made me increasingly curious about myself.
Who was I?
Why did certain situations create fear or anxiety in me?
How much of the person I thought I was had been shaped by thoughts, emotions and insecurities that I had simply accepted as normal?
Those questions took me much deeper into the study and practice of meditation, healing and yoga.
From Student to Teacher
Over the years, study and practice gradually became part of my everyday life.
They helped me recognise many of the fears and patterns that had once seemed completely normal to me — and to understand how much they had limited the way I experienced my own life.
Eventually, what I was learning and experiencing naturally became something I wanted to share.
I began teaching workshops and groups, and after returning from India in 2013, that work developed further into teaching yoga, meditation and healing practices.
One-day workshops became weekends. Weekends eventually became retreats.
And throughout it all, I kept coming back to one simple understanding:
No one else can do our inner work for us.
A Typical Day
There is a rhythm to each day, but this isn't a retreat where every minute is scheduled.
There is time for practice, time together — and plenty of time simply to be.
8:00 am — Sunrise Breathwork
Begin the day quietly with breathwork as the morning unfolds over the Mediterranean.
8:45 am — Breakfast
10:00 am–1:00 pm — Morning Session with Mark
Our main session of the day, exploring meditation, healing, awareness and the patterns, thoughts and emotions that shape how we experience our lives.
1:00 pm — Lunch
Afternoon — Your Time
Rest. Swim. Read. Explore Salobreña. Take a walk. Have a siesta.
Or do absolutely nothing.
5:00–7:00 pm — Movement, Reflection & Sunset Meditation
Gentle movement and yoga to reconnect with the body, followed by reflection or meditation as the day begins to close.
8:00 pm — Dinner
“And then the evening is yours. No homework. No pressure to achieve anything. Just another day to slow down, reconnect and leave a little more of the noise behind.”

Perhaps It's Time
You don't need to arrive at this retreat with anything figured out.
You don't need to be experienced in meditation, yoga or healing.
You simply need to be willing to give yourself a little time and space.
For six days, we'll step away from the usual noise of everyday life and create the opportunity to look a little deeper, breathe a little more freely and perhaps reconnect with something within yourself that has been quietly waiting for your attention.
If that feels right for you, I'd love to welcome you to Salobreña in May.
